Our Story

Once upon a time, in a small valley nestled among three great mountain ranges – the Himalayas, Hindukush, and the Karakoram – there lived a community called Hunzakutz. It was a place untouched by the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Forty years ago, life in Hunza Valley was simple and serene, unaware of the bustling world beyond our valley.

Despite not having (not-so-healthy) treats like chocolates and soft drinks, we were blessed with bountiful fruits in the summers directly from the trees and nourishing dried fruits that we stored for cold winters. Our food came from the pristine environment around us, fed by glacial waters filtered through natural herbs.

 

We didn't realize it then, but our way of life was extraordinary. While we ate organic foods and drank pure glacial water, far away, the rest of the world was changing the way food was grown and consumed. 

Twenty years later, after traveling and living in different parts of the world, we discovered something remarkable. We were among the few communities globally with a lifespan exceeding a hundred years! Researchers from faraway lands attributed our longevity to the unique diet and environment of our valley.

Shilajit, a favorite health booster among Hunza men, was cherished for its health benefits. They would trek barefoot for miles, carrying heavy loads of produce, as transportation was scarce and shoes were a luxury.

 

 

Driven by a desire to share our natural gifts with the world, a small business was born in our new home, Canada. Every product we offer reflects the purity and quality of our homeland. Our Shilajit is free from additives, sourced directly from the Himalayan mountains where our ancestors live.
